The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of Macbeth by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jnr
Performed by HAmDramS 20-21 May 2011. Directed by Robert Bush.
- "... an uproarious, hilarious comedy for three men and seven women, introducing the intrepid ladies of the F.A.H.E.T.G. Dramatic Society. Their production, original in the extreme, of the classic tragedy Macbeth should guarantee them a place at the Drama Finals at Welwyn Garden City after nine months of painstaking rehearsals. However under the carefully mascara'd eye of the adjudicator, Mr George Peach, injured Kate bravely troops on with her leg in plaster only to find her injuries more painful and numerous as the evening progresses; Lady Macbeth misses her bus, forcing the stage manager Henry to step into the role - minus spectacles but still moustachioed. And if this isn't enough Peach announces that they have to complete the final act in eight and a half minutes to avoid disqualification. But rising to the occassion the ladies come close to doing for Macbeth what Tom Stoppard did for Hamlet."
